Thanks for the article.

There seem to be a lot of scholars defending atheist-preferred views of the Gospels (like they were second-hand accounts not written by eyewitnesses). Obviously Thiede has personal / religious and financial reasons for defending his thesis. That doesn't prove he's wrong, it just adds a higher measure of skepticism. The amount of scholarly resistance indicated in the article suggests Thiede will have a difficult time defending his thesis to biblical scholars in general. Fortunately for his pocketbook, it's not just biblical scholars he can hope will buy his book, but many of those who want scientific support for their religion.

Ideally, I would want to read Thiede's book next to a scholarly rebuttal.

Based on this article, I don't think there's a good reason yet to doubt the conventional dating of the Gospels.
