If a religion is not based on the Truth, what good is it?

Now here is one for you.

If a scientist presents evolution as "fact" [abiogenesis being inseparable from evolution, in the large paradigm], how does one eliminate the possibility they are not lying or deluded, given that the origination of life from inert matter [the Resurrection of Christ, being a notable exception] has never been demonstrated.

Crystals, informationless amino-acids, Dawkin's computer analogy with smuggled-in information content, or any thought-experiment utilizing miracalus or otherwise implausible events or reasoning, or circular arguments [such as we're here, aren't we?], not permitted.

Good luck.
