: Given the apparent inadequecy of Darwinain theory in accounting for the complexity of the mammallian genome,the profound gaps in the fossil record, not to mention the bio-molecular origin of life, why is this "theory" continued to be propagated as gospel in our educational institutions?

Actually, it's Old Testament rather than Gospel. The creation story in Genesis, provided we switch day three and four, is exactly the same as the story of evolution. Of course, that is not why it is still taught in schools. But I for one think it gives support to the theory of evolution.
