If the God the Mormons taught me existed I would expect to see the following changes in the world we live:
-everyone would be a theist of the same religion (Mormonism) because to deny the true religion would be so ludicrous, the evidence would be so strong. It would be like claiming the Earth is flat or that gravity doesn't exist. Only the really strange would disbelieve.
-The power of one LDS priesthood-holding man would be seen to be more powerful than million-man armies or corporations.
-Revelatory promises would be fulfilled despite enormous difficulties. For example,
==when the 19th century LDS prophets claimed that the US government would fail if the Mormons were not redressed for their claims in Missouri, then such would have happened.
==when 19th century LDS patriarchs promised people during the 1800s that they would be alive to see the 2nd Coming of Jesus Christ, such would have happened.
==etc.
-everyone would be nearly sinless, because wickedness would never be happiness.
-miracles would happen so often that scientific predictions would have to include an added "miracle-factor" to accomodate for it.
-Prayers would be answered so directly that people would be doing it with great success all day, just like they might talk to and ask for help from their earthly parents.
-dead corpses would regularly disappear and resurrected persons would visit frequently.
-It would be common for people to qualify all their promises with words like: "This will happen, or I'll be there, unless someone's prayer gets in the way."
-many more. Would you like to add some? |
