Thank God, But Don't Blame Him

I find it odd that religious people will thank God for their perceived blessings but they don't blame Him for their problems. Perhaps it's partly because the people who survive tragedy after fervent prayer think God saved them. Those who prayed, but died anyway aren't around to complain about it and claim God killed them. The relatives of the deceased often console themselves with words like: "It was his time to die." As all successful suicides would realize if there were an afterlife, THEY decide when they die, not God.
