I'm not surprised that Randi would use or capitalize on his expertise in deception to expose scam artists, but I find I have more confidence in his debunking activities (of the spoon bender Yuri, for example) than of scientists who claim to observe psychic phenomena. Randi, in fact, has offered something like 1 million dollars for reasonable proof of psychic powers. Those who can reproduce the remote sensing experiments should take him up on the offer.
