Normal vision and hearing are reasonably clear. Why do channelers have to be so vague? Can't they just get the message clearly? Are some channelers able to channel further into the future than yours? Why the difference? Your questions appeared to give the channeler some leeway for error.
Telescopes, computers, CCD cameras, etc. are commonly used by astronomers regardless of their religious background when doing science. Why? Because they work. Prayer, fasting, channeling, oija boards, etc. are virtually never used by astronomers when doing science. Why? Because they don't work. Why any scientists use these things in their other activities is another, but important, question.
Suggesting that spiritual actions benefitted the mathematician you referred to (who, unfortunately I'm not familiar with) would be like arguing that it was the human feces in your home remedy that cured your skurvy instead of the Vitamin C you also took. If a scientist who follows scientific procedure AND prays happens to succeed does that mean prayer is an effective tool for science? This is a faulty conclusion. You need to isolate the factors causing the effect. Scientific tests of the efficacy of prayer have not shown a supernatural effect. I'm sure the same is true about channeling.
Are you suggesting that channeling really works and that science would progress at a faster rate if it would learn the techniques or pay the experts?
If you were on a government committee to determine how science should be done would you vote for a law encouraging scientists to make significant use of the supernatural tools available to them such as prayer, fasting, channeling, oija boards, etc? |
