Yes, it is just a matter of convenience; the convenience of communication. Without definition, we cannot communicate; an issue you have made very clear as I suspect we are not communicating.

From reading your posts, I am begining to suspect that you define "math" to be what I would call logical thought. The definition is close to mine but not quite the same.

I suspect you have trouble communicating. It appears to me that you do not take into account the possibility that your words mean something else to the listeners than they do to you. I find it difficult to believe most educators would agree with the phrase "math is not a tool".

Your terminating outburst on the post above appears to me to be very irrational! I would call it a religious position.
