Your comments on "The Kingdom of Nagai" were much appreciated. Naturally, the damn thing has its faults. But I think most of its faults are balanced by an overall liveliness that, to me, is refreshing; most science writing, hag-ridden as it is with boredom and pretentious despair, could certainly do with a breath of fresh air. Still, I don't think this highly partisan judgment of my own essay will carry much weight in scientific circles.
