Actually Earth does not circle Sun as we all now know. Gravitational pull of Milky way is so strong, that it makes Earth to fall on Milky way with much higher velocity (about 250 km/sec) than fall on Sun (30 km/sec), so in galactic goordinates Earth moves around Sun in highly stretched and very asymmetric spiral.
