the capacity to sin, 'turn away from God', the power of choice, which was used after the 'enemy' convinced them God wouldn't really care and didn't mean what He said.

It was a mercy He didn't let mankind live on this earth forever, I think. They covered themselves because they DID feel shame. To say we have no choice BUT to sin because 'that's the way we were made' is to admit powerlessness to make a choice for good, and I don't know that I can agree with that. I have to wonder how much better of a world it would've been had that 'incident' in the garden not happened...:)
