the whole of Isaiah, and the only thing close to that which you mentioned was chapter 55, v.4 "Behold I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples'. This does not signify military, necessarily. Plus, it referred to the v3 before it: "Incline your ear and come to Me; Listen, that you may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, According to the faithful mercies shown to David." (you may know this is the same David who, as a kid, was the bravest one in battle to take on Goliath with a sling and a stone, and the rest is - well - 'history'.) 'Leading' and 'commanding' happen in peace time as well as during war. |
