Yes, you're right. However, a scientist looks for empirical evidence for his beliefs while a religious guy/gal (I figured if I said "religious person" again it would start sounding derogatory :) ) is TOLD what to believe. You believe in Jesus because the Bible says so. A scientist believes in things because they ARE so, and can be proven via tangible means. That's the difference.
