Meg:

And if the human race were wiped clean from the earth could there really be something called "blue"? Moreover, why should the universe be made only of components that our eyes, aided by our instruments, are attuned to see? Compelled by our faith in the brains’ ability to examine the heavens, are we not -- like in the Hopi creation myth -- "painting the skies"? Yet this passion to impose order, this raging cerebral fire, is nothing less than humanity’s driving force, a unifying spirit that extends across continents and throughout time. Hence, so vivid are the pictures we have drawn of the heavens that we cannot even posit that as much as 99 percent of it is invisible.

Furthermore, I have no idea what magical transmission may have occurred to mislead everyone into thinking that I’m "intensely religious." But so be it.
