But by even asking this question, you, like the Christian fundamentalist, betray an attempt to fit the universe into a framework in which explanations must always prevail. And like the fundamentalist, you also believe that beyond the unfeeling stars is an intelligence, whether that intelligence be an intervening god or the mathematical laws of physics.
