Let's say we have a cube of gold (I say gold because it is very dense). It blocks out all em radiation (x-rays gamma rays, visible light, etc.) It is floating in extragalactic space (no massive bodies around). From your reasoning, it seems that the gold cube would collapse, because there is no em radiation (light) on the inside of the cube.
