that IS what faith is

I can't see electrons, but we KNOW they're there. We can't see God, but we don't know he's there. What's the difference? The effects of electrons are seen every day, in thunderstorms, when you walk across a carpet and touch a doorknob, etc. The universe as we know it wouldn't be the same without electrons.

It(the Universe) can be explained independent of God, though. The fact that science doesn't have all the answers doesn't mean in can't.

Religion used to teach that the Earth was the center of the universe. Science proved them wrong. Religion used to teach that species never went extinct because God wouldn't allow his creations to be destroyed. Science proved them wrong. Religion used to teach that the world was created in six days. Science proved them wrong. Religion used to teach that the world was 6000 years old. Science proved them wrong. And so on, and so on.

After being pushed into a corner for so many years, what prevents some new discovery from proving the universe is a mistake/chance event?

More importantly, the roots of your faith, the people who were the Christians of past eras, those who believed so many things now thought ridiculous, was their faith false? If so, how about yours?
