kinda like 'if life was in design, why not everywhere in general, not just on one speck'? maybe because god would give his life even for one person, not just all the gazillion folks there are?

no. i mean, that's TRUE, but it's not analogous.
hmm. would the greater question be 'life is life, does it matter how much of it occupies the universe? and does it require life to be a delight to behold?' probably not. i think the orion nebula was a particularly cool trick to pull off, and saturn. and he just keeps making more stuff! no repeats! just amazing...
