Tell Me Like I'm 5 Years Old.

how is it the sun supposedly ignited? i can understand it stays burning with pressure, like using an underwater torch, the gases and pressure keep it burning despite the lack of oxygen once it IS ignited. But even an underwater torch is ignited in an oxygen atmosphere first. maybe part or another question is IS oxygen required at least in ignition? sorry i'm not one of the eruditer of the crew, hopefully i'm not a hemorrhoid. hmm, those burn without oxygen...:)
