"The bible says turn the other cheek , it says nothing about not striking back." - It is my understanding that is exactly what 'turning the other cheek' MEANS.

Did we come to 'god and science' looking only for Christian views? i didn't. Doubt is nothing new. and again, before i was a believer, i probably woulda taken their same stance due to having been fed up with a lotta non-functional 'feel good' people. but faith is practice, just as it is belief. i know your belief is strong, so let me again encourage you to bear up in all joy and see it as an opportunity to be strengthened inside but not at the expense of causing others to stumble in their search. there's nothing wrong with wanting to know; just with not caring or being reckless.

given the sensitivity of the prospects, let me also encourage you to seek silence rather than a sharp tongue.

there will always be questions we can't answer, god-related or not. no shame in not knowing all the answers, great honor in admitting it.

why will you not tolerate such questions, when even the bible tells us to test teachings for validity? we're not robots.

no one can find faith by typing on a keyboard, anymore than we can explain it with the same tool.the fact that they're here seems evidence the door IS open. we just need to decide if we're going to barge in with guns a blazing' or with a casserole and welcome wagon.

best regards, Gwyn
