: : As a Christian with a strong background in Astronomy, I struggled for years trying to reconcile my faith with my understanding of the heavens. I always believed that my God and his creation is big enough to withstand the scruity of science. More recently, I read a book entitled "The Fingerprint of God" by a Hugh Ross. He has a Ph.D in Astrophysics (and a Christian believer) from the University of Toronto. The did a fine job in answering many of my questions (i.e. age of the universe, interstellar distances, "Big Bang" vs. "Steady State", etc.). Not all in the Judeo-Christian community will agree with him. But this book did alot in affirming my faith in God and science.

: Thanks for the suggestion. I've also picked up some books on the subject, "Knowing God" and "The Creator and the Cosmos" (I don't have the authors right off hand). Both were written by Christian Astrophysicists, and I found that both were equally flawed by the concept "if their was any sort of a beginning, then God exists" and then a large number of "proofs" follow from that. But this may not be true! Just because their some sort of "beginning" to our time and space, we MUST attribute our existance to a omniscient, omnipotent, intelligent being who controls our lives? Even Eintein, who didn't discredit the possibility of the existance of God, could not see how such a LARGE being would even bother with us! (coincidentally, I've heard all sorts of half-cocked theories to explain this, like a God with control and ability to move through time and space at will to pull off His miracles).

: Of course, their still is an amount of belief in science. For me, I "believe" that some day we will find life elsewhere. I "believe" that finding irrefutable evidence is the best way to draw conclusions. I have "faith" that human beings are capable of accomplishing things and fostering ideas that we haven't even imagined yet. But these are qualified beliefs, based on a high probability of occuring. Their nothing outlandish, so I guess their kind of, well, boring to religious people. :)

: So, as long as I'm searching for some answer that leads to God, try reading a book that leads to science. The one that changed my outlook is "The Demon-Haunted World" by Carl Sagan.

In Problaby 100 years all the Theories of Science that we have at the moment or 70 % will be in the trash can> Remember when Our World was Square. Faith since the man in this Earth in a way o another has been the Hope of man and will be. Has you seen the Movie contact from a Novel of that Great man Carl Sagan. I had seen it 3 times
