The influence of money. In our society money equals power, and in many cases rights. Specific court cases give the best evidence. A rich man is acussed of a crime and hires the best lawyers to defend himself. A poor man off the street gets public defendants. Education can be bought. And in some cases having a parent that is a well known alumni helps, especially when that parent gives large amounts to the alumni fund. I don't have the answers. But I maintain this country is the foundation for something good. Compared to all other systems and governments I wouldn't trade it for any.
