Is that a serious question? If so, it all started out with girls, no not the teenage porn star Abigal Williams from The Crucible but a much younger Abigal. Accusations were made on one person and then it spread like fever. A good example of what happened can be found in the beginning of Nathaniel Hawthorne's House of Seven Gables. Well people, no matter of what status in wealth, were being accused of witchcraft and I think it ended just like Joesph McCarthy's Communist hunt. The blood started to flow back into the brain and people realized what they had done. No one accused anybody of witchcraft, in any cases, when someone actually thought they performed witchcraft. |
