Please, provide the source of this information as it seems to be not correct. According to data I recently saw, there were about 30% believers among top scientists in the beginning of 20 century, 15% in the middle of the century and about 5% now.

Also, another study shows direct correlation between lack of knowledge about physical laws and likehood to believe in God. So, basically it is our desire to delegate to God what we do not have information about in order to have peace in mind.
