Scientists are today searching for the Unified Field Theory almost like we are searching for God. In fact there is an interesting analogy between the history of religion and the history of force in physics.
According to modern physics, in the beginning there was but one force represented by the Unified field. This unified force, which has no name that I know of, is the combination of all the forces we experience today: gravity, the electromagnetic force, the weak nuclear force and the strong nuclear force. There is actually a fifth force that we cannot detect on the scale of the solar system, but which acts on the scale of the universe. That is an expansive force that is accelerating the expansion of the universe. The completely unified field must include that one as well. But that is beside the point.
The history of force in the universe is the history of the Big Bang because all the splitting up of the unified force down to our 4 or 5 forces happened very early in the history of the universe. The Unified force first split into gravity and the GUT force. Gravity remained the same since then as far as we know. But the GUT force soon split into the Strong nuclear force and the Electro-weak force. The Strong force is responsible for holding the nuclei of atoms together. GUT by the way stands for Grand Unification Theory. It was named before they considered unifying gravity as well. And right now the unified field does not include the universal expansion field. More names are required.
Anyway, after a while the electro-weak force split into the weak nuclear force (which makes radioactivity) and the electromagnetic force, which in turn is composed of electric forces and magnetic forces. Somehow the universe stopped before all electromagnetic forces were split into electric and magnetic forces. But the electro-weak force no longer exists except in accelerators. And the GUT force perhaps exists in black holes, but nowhere else. The unified field probably also exists in the singularities of black holes. And my personal theory is that the unification of all 5 forces in 26 dimensions lies at the center of super massive black holes. So black holes invert the big bang.
What has religion got to do with this? Well, all of today’s major religions can be traced back to a common religion of the RegVeda that existed in India 8,000 years ago. Some 6,000 years ago a western version split off that survives today as Judaism. As we all know, Judaism split into Christianity and Islam, and western Christianity split into Catholic and Protestant branches. In India, Hinduism spun off Buddhism, essentially a protestant branch which survives today mainly in the Far East.
So Hinduism is analogous to gravity, Judaism is analogous to the GUT force, Islam is analogous to the Strong force, and Christianity is analogous to the electromagnetic force with its 2 parts Catholic like magnetism and Protestantism like electricity. Buddhism must then be analogous to the universal expansive force.
