Is competition of god or devil? Depends on the definition one holds, I would think. I'm in competition with myself, trying to be better than I was. But I really feel no jealousy of others who seem to do/be better than I; I see it more as observing opportunities where I can learn if it interests me. Pursuits at the risk of integrity/conscience or at outright harm to others ARE evil and selfish and could be construed as fanned by the devil. But there is no unvirtue unknown or unredeemable by god, i figure. we all fall short. i'm certainly not going to allow myself to fel saddled by others' thinking i'm not 'good enough' or this or that. i know my history, i think i'm surprisingly better off than i might have been under the circumstances, and that motivates me to see what other fruits may come of it all.
afterlife? yes. multiple afterlives? not aware of any, but if God's big enough to do evolution and creation if he wishes, then it would seem he's big enough to give one life or many. i tend to think, in his mercy, he doesn't require bootcamp after bootcamp, tho. even the best and cushiest life on this side of the grave would be a shadow of heaven, and he promises heaven, so i'll go with door number one. :)
