I do know that texan ranches take up vast amounts of space, and how much of that grain could be distrubuted to poor countries in africa, if people were not so greedy Socialism is the way forward a mixed economy employing elements from Capitalism free enterprise to make a profit but also employing communist ideals like the distribution of the world's wealth, to help 3rd world countries, the butter, milk and grain mountains are evidence of this surplus, in the European community and probably the american one, that isn't even on the market and could be used, but the farmers will not give it away unless they are asked a price for their produce. Also rainforests of Madagascar, Amazon, central africa, indonesia, malaysia, india need to be preserved other forms of natural resources need to be used like for instance solar roof tiles which generate 15% more than average eletrical energy which is sold back to the national grid, pollution from cars and heavy industry needs to be replaced by solar energy and the seas and rivers need to maintain their sea life. The greenhouse effect will happen and climactic changes do occur anyhow but not so rapidly and ultra violet rays are bad news. The regulation of population is tough but I don't see any solution unless we colonise mars or something.
