'day-night on the first day...sun and moon on the
fourth. This seems to be completely out of order'. Indeed it does seem out of order. Could it be in Gen 1:3 the 'let there be light' He was using a sort of energy light in which to do His work, and later v.16 when he 'made the two great lights, placed them in the heavens to govern the day and night' the prospect of having items do that task was appealing and gave us something more to satisfy our curiosity (astronomy)? He said the light was 'good', so maybe wanted it to be used more than the 'short time' that he was creating things.

i'm not a creationist solely; i believe God's big enough to use any and all methods to accomplish his designs. maybe he used creation AND evolution, maybe just one or the other.
