I will need more time to address the comments you have made. Please allow me more time to gather firm and supportable data for every one of the great minds of time below. I think I read somewhere that Shakespeare did not write any thing that was ever attributed to his name. Let me look this up too.
MICHAEL H. HEART (WHO IS A CHRISTIAN AMERICAN)AND AN ASTRONOMER, MATHEMATICIAN, LAWYER, CHESS-MASTER AND SCIENTIST, AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, PUBLISHED AN INCISIVE BIOGRAPHY OF THE 100 MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE OF ALL TIME. THE BIOGRAPHICAL RANKING WITH EXPLANATIONS DESCRIBES THE CAREERS OF RELIGIOUS AND POLITICAL LEADERS, INVENTORS, WRITERS, PHILOSOPHERS, SCIENTISTS AND ARTISTS.
FROM HIS RESEARCH, WHICH INCLUDED ILLUSTRIOUS PERSONS SUCH AS JESUS CHRIST, MOSES, CAESAR, THE WRIGHT BROTHERS, NAPOLEON, SHAKESPEARE, COLUMBUS AND MICHAELANGELO; MICHAEL HEART RATED MUHUMMED (pbuh) AS NUMBER ONE. HE CONCLUDED THE BIOGRAPHY IN HIS BOOK - TITLED "THE ONE HUNDRED MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSONS IN HISTORY" - 'IT IS THIS UNPARALLELED COMBINATION OF SECULAR AND RELIGIOUS INFLUENCE WHICH I FEEL ENTITLES MUHUMMED TO BE CONSIDERED THE MOST INFLUENTIAL SINGLE FIGURE IN HUMAN HISTORY.'

"...one must first study the past and observe where some of the greatest sources of knowledge
Lets do that, shall we instead of just making a blanket statement. Archimedes - Believed in many gods - Invented statics. Einstein - Believed in one god - invented relativity. Darwin - Don't really know what he believed in - invented evolution. Freud - Athiest, though Jewish - Turned psychology from a myth into a science. Galileo - Christian - Decided sun was center of solar system, was banned from church. Marx - I think an athiest - invented model of evolution for government. Jesus - Jewish - World's first advocate for socialism. Confucious, though I like Lao Tzu more - Asian - alot of work in philosophy. Socretes - Polythiest - huge philosopher. Everyone came from him. Shakespeare - Christian - World's best writer EVER! Related real life to his stories. They still live today and will always live.
I think this is a fair list of the world's most innovative thinkers. They have broken the mold and
have given us the knowledge we know today. None of these, except for Jesus was affiliated in any important way with religion. They were religious, but not to the point that they tried to impose their religious views in their knowledge. None of these were saints or prophets, save Jesus.
