I'd call that more of a state of mind. A way of life. I consider a faith based on something intangible. The establishment of your inner self is hardly what I would call intangible, rather it is very real and can be used to nearly inexhaustable ends. Taoism spoke of satisfying the inner self, te, as well as those around your. There is a need for balance. Nature proves that the universe is based on balances, why should we be any different.

A couple things on Buddhism. I thought the original buddha was Siddhartha Guatama. Also, do you really think the Buddha actually came up with all those sutras? Taoism claims that Lao Tzu wrote up the Tao Te Ching in a moments notice. Hardly can believe that either. They may have been the cornerstone of the beliefs, but I do doubt that the Buddha wrote all of that. He probably wrote a majority of the sutras, but not all of them. Just a thought.
