Scripture of all faiths contains much repetition. The Koran is the most repetitive one of all.

But what interests memore is when the scripture is repeated and yet expressed differently.

Let's take the example of the ten commandments. It is repeated twice, or at least twice that I know of.

In its first instance, the first commandment was "Thou shall have no other gods before me"

In the second instance it was "Thou shall love the lord thy god with all thy heart, all thy soul and all thy (might, will, mind)"- the translations from the hebrew vary.

Jesus reinforced the second quote in his expression of the greatest commandments. Yet it is the jews today that use the second and the christians that use the first.

So there must be some reason for the unreasonability of this whole situation. The tradition or books of Moses are oral. But presumably the first ten commandments were written down.

Perhaps his breaking the tablets could explain the discrepancies. But then why would god change what they said the second time. What is the underlying principle that could make that scripture reasonable. That is what Moses said we should look for.
