H: Define perfect. I must ask how the universe is perfect, or imperfect for that matter, when it simply abides by physics. Tautology is great when trying to justify a position, but it never really works. I'm confused by the notion that self-aware beings have gone astray. Astray from what? The universe does not abide by any design, is simply acts according to its nature, its properties. Self-aware beings, such as mammals, are simply a bi-product. I find flawed reasoning in the following statement: "Actually the Universe is perfect until you include the interference caused by the Free-Will of Self-Awareness." Free-will (I disagree with the notion that this is some how interference in a somehow perfect universe) and self-awareness are bi-products of reactions and carbon based DNA reproducing and forming complex organisms. The perfect universe, in your view, wasn't perfect when it produced the imperfect, in your view, self aware creatures. We are simply the universe looking upon it self, studying itself, attempting to make sense of itself. Perfect, moral, right....all human notions created by those attempting to make others follow their creed. H Greg: The Earth is the Garden of Eden, wherein all life provides for all life. When the numbers of one species of life dwindle, the numbers of the species of life that species provides for dwindles. When the numbers are bountiful, the numbers of the species thus provided for are bountiful. This is the way of Nature. Self-Awareness enters the picture and cares only for its own interests, no matter the cost to other forms of life. It has cut down the habitat of myriad species to provide for its own habitat without concern for those other species, or the species they provide for. It is burning down the Amazon Rain Forest, the source of our global oxygen supply, to provide farmland for profit. It puts another species of life on the endangered species list everyday. Its industrialization pollutes the environment until it will no longer support any life at all. For millions of years this planet has provided for a myriad variety of life, without strain. Through our own Free-Will, we are in the process of destroying it, so that it will no longer support us, after which, in perfect order, it will begin anew. N'est Pas?
