Hi Ritch. I guess stars have birth and death bcause everything in the physical world is born and dies. As to the universe eventually dying, maybe when it does we or any creature will no longer need it. Perhaps also another or other universes will be born. I'm not sure if sciene has established the possibility of other universes in existance but I think they may have. Besides the universe will be so much older than us that we probably cannot even imagine it's length of time even if we knew the number of it's age.
