Islam teaches this too. We are told in Islam that heaven can be made on earth. Another words This world is a heaven to those who are born out of it in to the parallel world which is always better if those who die deserve it. All the same people exist there too. Also this world is a Hell to those who are born out of it in to a lower Hell in another parallel universe. The evil traits reside there and the Buddha (or good) traits live in the heaven world, but all the same people live there too in identical or new bodies.

Look at a person you never met before very closely for over fifteen minuets you will start seeing the features of some one you know soon.

This is most likely that person you knew in the other world at some point many times over and over in newer worlds.
