We are special because we like to think we are. It is within our nature to Love and be Loved and to wish to be Loved and wanted.

Also our intelligence makes us special in that an animal is instinctively defensive at birth and grows up only to eat and reproduce and die. A human Child is born and needs much more protection
and nurturing than an animals offspring in that the intellect of a human has no bounds for growth but an animals intellect reaches capacity after a few months after its birth.
