"applicable to a wide variety of circumstances", refers to the unknown, hence the need to theorize in order to bring the unknown into the known. You "know" your door exists, hence no need to theorize about its existence. Some people might theorize about its non-existence, but they will not likely find any "hard" evidence to support their theories. The more "hard" evidence a theory acquires, the more it becomes "proven". |
