If ancients created gods to explain the things around them. Do you not think it to be true that modern man has created god and other beliefs such a buddism and buddist philosophy to explain such notions as life and "natural law" the set of events we call the creation of life and the universe. which as yet can`t be explained fully by use of mathmatics and science. I believe we are to be wasting our time if we don`t try to solve these questions by use of a mathmatical or scientific viewpoint. I use your example of Zeus and thunder.
