John said at the beginning of his book.

In the beginning was the word(read consciousness, as that`s where words exist)
and the word was with god(god had consciousness)
and the word became man(humans developed consciousness).

Most people take this passage to mean that the word became Christ. That of course is also true, but I think that`s too narrow an interpretation. The assunption that "word" means "consciousness" puts this passage in complete agreement with Lakedale. And do not knock the word assumption, for everything that you have stated is also based on assumption, or faith, essentially the same thing from a scientific perspective.
