According to the Genesis account, God created "kinds" of life. Each kind, had/has a built in genetic potential to exhibit a finite amount of phenotypic variation. For ex., the domestic dog is derived from the first "kind" of dog created. As a species, canine domesticus can, and does, exhibit a great deal of phenotypic variation, depending upon which traits were selected from the gene pool. This is well understood by both creationists and evolutionists. Is this evolution or simply variation within a kind? Or, to put it another way, can time, along with natural selection, change a frog into a prince? A clue to the answer to this question can be found in one of the preceding statements in this post. Traits are selected. They are not created. To say they are created via natural selection acting on random mutations, is to reach beyond empirical science into the realm of science fiction. There are precious few, if any, examples of a random mutations giving rise to a useful phenotypic trait in any species. For ex., they have been exposing fruit-flies to radiation [an extreme from of artificial selection pressure] for the better part of a hundred yrs. Yet, the best they can manage to produce are grotesquely mutated fruit-flies. Evolution persists as the predominant dogma despite the evidence. It is a philosophy. It is the theological basis for the doctorine of atheism and secular humanism. It owes it`s existence to a brand of human rebellion known as rationalism, which was born in the late 1700`s and is symbolised by the eye-ball over the pyramid on the back of the U.S. dollar-bill. It is an abomination. |
