You`d think this would make people more concerned about CO2 emissions as they contribute to global warming melting the polar ice caps... you`d think high gas prices would even better convey the message by appealing to the capitalist sense of greed, but apparently not. Instead we have truck drivers baracading city routes, we continue to have suburbanites that make their long morning commutes to work into conjested city centers where they toil away to purchase life`s comforts.

Our`s is a society addicted to an unrenewable resource... gas prices SHOULD be high, it screws up our atmosphere and wreaks havoc on climate. The sad thing is, the technology to revert to alternative forms of energy exists NOW.

Thus, here are things you can do (thanks!):

Through the internet, world wide web sites can be read by large audiences, giving it the potential to raise awareness of injustice and
abuse as well as opportunities and solutions.

Around critical issues, it also makes it easier for people to write and respond to large numbers of people, escalating pressure on business, government and society to do the right thing. The internet can foster democratic development and protect our environment.

Here are a few simple ways you may be able to strengthen your internet advocacy work:

a)Develop your own activist email list - always ask if people want to be removed.
b)Post bulletins on list serves and discussion groups where appropriate.
c)Forward occasional email about important news items, events, actions, and opportunities. Cut and paste the complete addresses of interesting sections of web sites (along with the html prefix) into messages so recipients can easily link to them.
