Generally, i`m inclined to agree with your statement that good behavior is reinforced in a society... that`s just the way things work to maintain that social cohesiveness among a group of people. However, i see no compelling evidence to see why the universe would care about pathetic us in the grand scheme of things. There`s some grand score card out there that simply keeps track of the day to day interaction of humans? Any kind of God that i could conceive of wouldn`t bother with trivial things like that.

And of course there are acceptions to this rule you`ve proposed. What about some innocent child that`s raped at a young age? The child didn`t do anything wrong... certainly the rapist may receive some measure of justice, but that isn`t fool proof. Where dwells the hangman`s hangman?
