Thats just it, we don't need a "God" in the equation. There is absolutely no evidence that some god exists. Some religious people will use existence as evidence of a god. For example, if science shows the Universe had a beginning, something had to have started it, therefor there is a God. Well, first it needs to be pointed out that many religious leaders still reject the big bang, and second it needs to be pointed out that all religious leaders were against the idea when it first arrived. Now, lets look at the religious argument. The big bang is true. This could be premise one. And scientists will largely agree with this. Something had to have started it. Therefor, God exists as the all powerful entity that is exempt from the physics of our universe. Exempt from time, etc etc. There is no evidence to suggest this is the case. One could make an argument that our Universe is simply part of something larger, that is outside our observational possibility. If you want to explain the unexplainable using this "god", it is your right to do so. But there is no evidence to suggest this is the case. Just look at the history of religion, study it. Whenever the religious make claims, it usually deals with the unexplainable. Look how much christianity has changed, how many ideas we now know as fact they have struggled against. During the time of christ, ideas such as the big bang and evolution were unheard of. God was used to explain the creation of man, and the earth. Man was created out of clay, and woman out of the man's rib. This is absolute nonsense. Now christianity takes another form, going beyond the big bang because our science has not (and may never) get beyond that point. Religion simply takes refuge in the current days scientific boundries. As science learns more, religion changes. Religion has something so desireable, and so comforting, that it gives people peace of mine. It offers explaination for the unexplainable (of the time) and it offers everlasting life for a "Soul". I want the religious people to realize something. Your religion is man made, it offers no evidence to support itself. You have no "soul." You were raised to believe such a thing and now its time to face reality. Your life is finite. You will die. When you die your life is over. You will not dance around in happy land while all those non-believers suffer in hell. Sleep on it, think about it, and think about all those years before you were born and you simply didn't exist. It wasn't that bad.
