Hello Errol,

Atoms only behave in accord with the laws of physics, so when they behave differently, why they behave differently is important. In this case it was not the cold, it was proximity to the center of a gravitational source. It was predicted by Einstein`s Special Theory of Relativity. The prediction was verified. Denying the fact won`t change the fact. Velocity and Proximity to the center of a gravitational source have been shown to affect the flow rate of Time, the faster you go, the slower you go, the closer you are to the center of a gravitational source, the slower time flows. So Time is now seen as an objective reality, The Fourth Dimension.
