That`s a nice and easy thing to say. And it means nothing. Of course it is our choice. We grow up and are presented with 50 different religions to choose from. We have to choose. If there were some real evidence that "God`s mercy" were really there, perhaps there would be some reason for me to have chosen it. But since God provides no evidence for any religion, which religion one picks is mostly just a guess. People cannot be condemned for guessing wrong.
