How am I to know what a tomato plant wants from me? Certainly God did not give you stewardship over the tomato plant without informing you of its needs. Some sunshine, some nutritious soil, and a little water gives you sustanance, oxygen, and keeps the carbon dioxide that you exhale from choking you to death.
If I had to imagine whether quoting scripture, or being able to care for a tomato plant was more accountable to God, I think I`d learn something about tomato plants. :o)
If you consider this on a global scale, caring for the environment, the other species of life that we share this world with, each other, and learning to abide by the Truth, provides more accountability to God then All the Bible Thumping man can muster, Ever Will. :o)
