As I mentioned above, that is like asking, what is an electron. So I would define a chakra by my experience of it as an "active" point on the body. Beyond that it`s just a matter of faith as to what it really is. However, one could also qualify my definition by the overall body sensations that accompany its excitation.

My principal experience is an increased ringing in my ears, probably the Bardo that Buddhists speak of. However, modern medicine also has an explanation for it. Doctors would just claim that I am experiencing the symtoms of Meniere`s disease, a disease common to older people.
