Here is an example of human evolution within the confines of entropy.

On some hypothetical large island there was a tribe that separated into two groups. One group went to live on the big mountain where living conditions were harsh and they even had to grow large hearts to compensate for the smaller amount of oxygen available to breath. Of course, it was god that told them to do this, probably through a charismatic leader.

The second group stayed near the shore of this semi-tropical island and subsisted on fish, bananas, coconuts, etc., in relative luxury. They made lots of chidren who all grew up to continue the relatively soft liftstyle.

Meantime, the group on the mountain was suffering. Many died young because of the severe conditions and many of their children, the weakest, did not make it to become adulte.

As a result the mountain group became stronger and stronger in physical and mental strength, remaining true to their god out of sheer desperation at times.

Finally their god said that they could return to the sea. They easily conquered their soft cousins, killing them all so as not to dilute their strength. And they settled down to the easy life, telling stories of life on the mountain that became myths.

So eventually, god selected another leader to go to the mountain and repeat the whole process, thereby insuring that his island people would evolve in physic and mental abilities, all within the confines of the second law.

Evolution is not spontaneous, but it is easily guided by god. The Hebrew bible contains a similar story in Exodus.
