I do not understand the "then what". It is as if all things are hopeless if not for the existance of god. What if there is not a god? I will tell you. If there is no god, then things are exactly as they are, just without the existance of a god.
The damnation you speak of has to do with humans, god has nothing to do with it other than the idea and/or belief in certain aspects of it being used as an excuse to damn others, if it was god, I guess there would be no question, every individual would know it as fact, no wonder would be involved, so that leaves us humans resposible.
There is no ultimate judge, only other humans and human institutions of thought, we judge ourselves and others, do you disagree that WE create laws?
