He Works In Mysterious Ways?

I have a question to ponder, God want`s everyone to be "saved" and to follow "his" way right? Then why does he work in such mysterious ways? Why not just be obvious so that there is no denying or arguing the fact of whether there is a God or not. One other question, if heaven is an eternal paridise why do so many religious people fear death?
