I would imagine that many of the same relatives cross transfered the gene pool, especially when they were isolated in bands over and over...
only recently has the entire human species become free enough to locomote anywhere in the world, there are still alot of big and small cultural isolations to keep it from exploding, but soon...
We are in the begining of spread on a geological time frame/scale, what will become of us?
